Good Morning... ahh another nice day... you guessed it, I went to Clarion yesterday, just to get parts and the women were again out in force. God Bless America, where women can be dressed so lightly and guys like me can drool all over them. But like life, all good things come to an end, at least for a while cause I have stuff to do, places to go and people to see. Just to let you all know I am looking into a new blogging program in which you can post your comments. The one I found would be based through my website. So soon things will be changing, but for now I will leave you my quote of the day...

If you're in a war, instead of throwing a hand grenade at the enemy, throw one of those small pumpkins. Maybe it'll make everyone think how stupid war is, and while they are thinking, you can throw a real grenade at them. - Jack Handey

What a beautiful day! Sun is shining, temperature is warm, after such a dreary start to a day yesterday, the girls were out in force around Clarion. Gee, wonder where I was yesterday. Tight shorts, tee shirts were all over the campus yesterday but none compared to what I saw at where I needed to work yesterday. I was called to install a cable modem over at an apartment in Clarion and it was the best call I have had to date, even better than the woman showing up at the front door in a towel. This woman answered the door wearing a very tight pink bikini and took every ounce of my being to act professional and not stare at her but she was so dang HOT. Now grant it any woman in a bikini would be HOT to me but overall she wasn’t bad, early 20’s around 5’8” and her body while not the best pant buster, was sure easy on the eyes. So I took my time, not wanting to rush the job and leave that woman the way she looked. Her computer was in I guess you would call a breakfast nook adjacent to her kitchen which had to the door to the back yard. Where I was working I could see out that door and smack-dab right where she was lying out, and she so fine oiling herself, lying on her back with that nice tight crotch pointed right at me. Plus it was a little cool yesterday and she was quite hard nipped. If you have heard that Jimmy Buffett song cheeseburger in paradise and this would be just like it. I stretched a 15 min job into an hour, and then I called her in to show her what I did. I wanted to jump her with every ounce of my being, but I was professional explained what I did and how she can use the modem and what to be watchful for when on a cable modem. What was the coup-de-grace was when I was behind her, showing her the firewall at Zone Alarm she should download for free to protect her computer, she reached around quickly to grab a tablet and grasp where my already hard package was. Innocent enough but she immediately turned red and was very apologetic. I told her it was no problem, no harm done (being me I quite enjoyed it), but she was so nervous after that she couldn’t type straight. So with that I decided I better leave well enough alone and go, besides my hard on was killing me, too much good stuff at once - penile overload! So she paid me, and quickly showed me to the door. Funny thing was as much as it took me not to stare when I entered, I felt it took her not to stare when I left. She was looking down the whole time with brief glances at my crotch… not something I am used to. Anyways…I hope to go back sometime and install something else hehehe… I left my number and the quote, if you need ANYTHING don’t hesitate to call. On to today, I have to do a few quotes before I get started on a system rebuild so no house calls, but with a day like this, I might need parts. Clarion sounds like a good place to look for them. So did you see Enterprise – Minefield last night? My number 3 pick for the year, showed just why it was number 3. I love those visual effects out on the hull of the ship. Well this isn’t getting those quotes done so I am outta here, just really needed to share yesterday with someone, since my friend is too busy to write Hahaha, hopefully she knows I am joking.

Good morning on this damp, dreary Wednesday.... although it is supposed to be a good day... partly sunny, it just looks so dang depressing. Anywho... Cows... of all natures creatures... this one seems to be the most destructive of... gardens... you heard me right gardens. While at church on Sunday, one tip toed through the garden that my brother planted. That I don't think was so bad... he basically only stepped on two rows out of 10 and the garden was for the most part un-touched... That was till this morning... I believe a total of 5 cows got out today, this morning actually, and at least 2 ran through that garden. I almost don't want to go and look at it, but I must. I think the neighbors... who own the cows... know now where they are escaping from and will be fixing it... hopefully, but that doesn't save the garden now... just who knew that Cows... giver of the fertilizer that nurtures life... could be that destructive towards that life. Well I will leave you with my quote of day... have a great one this damp dreary Wednesday...

Happy Memorial Day everyone... yeah, I know it sounds weird since this should be a day of rememberance and sober emotions, but when I was a kid... it was a day off school when the weather was warm enough to go ride a bike and have a cookout. The one thing I miss is going to ClearCreek. When I was young... up till I went to college, every year my family would go to ClearCreek, just about 10 miles northeast of Cooks Forest, on Memorial Day. Mainly because they opened the creek for swimming today. SWIMMING on a day when the temp of the water is hovering around 38 degrees, but that was the fun part... my family and I, would set up the grill and the food, and then go swimming. We would race to the water and see who went in first, first to dive under water, and first to leave... It was sort of a cool thing to be first in and under and the LAST one out... grant it... blue from the water, but definitely cool... Now-a-days... no one is brave enough to go swimming, so I do long for those days. Anyways, have a good one today and enjoy it... and just for kicks I saw this naked picture of Gretchen and I thought everyone should see it... enjoy.

Good Afternoon all, have you ever wondered what was the stupidist game out there? Well I think last night, at Dave and Cindy's party, I found it...

Trivia Adventure

"The Fun and Fascinating Quiz game for Kids". Made by Pressman in 1983...

Ok maybe that is the reason it was so stupid... it is "for Kids" I mean the questions were very preschool, plus it was very dated... 1983... so perhaps next time... we can go back to old standbys... Scatagories or Outburst...

Anywho... Memorial Weekend is such a laid back weekend. But to enjoy it... you must experience it... So get out and enjoy...

Ok, rebuttal time...

dr94highman... "How could you not pick Shockwave, Part II as the best show of the year... It had a storyline, great special effects and you put it at #4... YOU ARE FULL OF S**T"

Hey, I agree that Shockwave was good just not that good... Minefield in my opinion was much better than than Shockwave but to each his own

prettyladyonawire... "I agree with you about Vanishing Point... I too hate episodes that don't really exsist... But I don't agree with Bounty and A night in Sickbay being on your list, they didn't have any continuity... Horizon and Stigma should be in their place"

I disagree with you on Bounty and A Night... but like I said a long time ago, it is probably my organ doing the talking about Bounty... but I didnot like either Stigma or Horizon because they were not Star Trek in my opinion. But I think the one thing we can agree on is Vanishing Point... that was the worst this season.

tb1971tb... "Why didn't Carbon Creek make your list? I thought it was much better than Cogenitor and The Catwalk... I think your thinking too much with 'YOUR ORGAN' for adding Bounty to your list"

Well thank you, I am proud to be thinking too much with "MY ORGAN." But back to Carbon Creek, I don't like flashback episodes so that is why it scored low.

Thank you again for your rebuttals... I know we all see things differently, and if you have your own list, publish it and let people know what you think, I mean blogger is free to everyone.

I decided to wait on going to the movies till next week, today is a special day for me and I need to spend some time with myself today...

Ich vermisse Sie so sehr, ich wünsche, daß Sachen anders wären. Sie sind immer gewesen und werden immer in meinem Herzen sein, besonders an diesem Tag, unser neunter Jahrestag Ich liebe Ihnen Stacey.

There were 26 episodes this season, and I said I would give you my top 15, but really it should be my top 10. This season as I have said before… really sucked. The last five choices I made scored between either 5 or 6. What is really sad is that a majority of shows… seven in all, scored a 4. Well enough whining, my choice as best episode for season 2 was a really close choice. Last night’s episode “The Expanse” vs. “Future Tense” but due to subtle jumpiness during the expanse… 2 weeks, 7 weeks, 3 months… it lost a little on continuity. That is what made the difference. So my pick for best Episode Season 2 was Future Tense. The worst episode of Season 2… Vanishing Point… simply because I hate episodes that never exist. They are worse than flashback episodes. Also the only reasons that Bounty and A night in Sickbay are on there are for there sexual connotations and Freudian slips…ok, need to rebut my list, email me.

Ok, now about the movies... You guys really have pitched, and I don't really know which to watch... Angry is funny, but Identity is interesting, deep... good arguements for both... I'll let you know which I decide... Oh, and a big PS going out to my friend who gets to spend this weekend on Martha's Vineyard with her 8 Austrailian women friends...PLEASE TAKE PHOTOS...hehehe....

Ok, folks back up here in good ol' Cranberry, meeting went about as well as it could... There company is looking for someone with at least five years lab experience right now and even with my persistance, all I could get was a "I'll see what my human resources department can do... don't call them, they'll call you." So the only thing that was good was seeing Jenny again... probably the last time since her dad got her a job with his lab for the summer. Pay's to have connections... like she says "There is no security on this earth, there is only opportunity." She is wise for her young age... and a dang fine Gluteus Maximus to match... I will miss it... hehehe(ps... I know she is reading this so there... that is what I was grinning about.)

Anywho... Enterprise "The Expanse" ... the review... first the episode in a nutshell...

A round probe fires on Earth's northern hemisphere, leaving a charred line of ruin in its wake. Admiral Forrest contacts Archer to tell him that there have been over a million casualties and to call Enterprise home. On the way, Enterprise is intercepted by Silik and the Suliban, who take Archer to meet the mysterious shadowy being from the future. Archer is told that Earth was attacked by the Xindi — an alien race whom humans will destroy some 400 years hence. Someone else involved in the temporal cold war has interfered with the timeline and warned the Xindi, who are now building a device to destroy all of Earth.

Meanwhile, on Qo'nos, Duras is told that to regain his honor, he must recapture Archer. The Klingons intercept Enterprise as it enters the Sol system, but other Starfleet vessels fight them off. When he arrives at Starfleet, Forrest tells Archer that the Vulcans do not believe time-traveling aliens could be responsible for the attack on Earth; moreover, they have identified the coordinates given to Archer to find the Xindi as located in the Delphic Expanse, an area of space like the Bermuda Triangle where starship crews suffer horrific fates. Archer scans the debris from the alien probe and is able to prove that it likely came from the future, but the Vulcans remain unconvinced and send a psychiatrist disguised as a radiation specialist to examine Archer's mental state.

Starfleet agrees to let Archer take Enterprise into the Delphic Expanse to look for the Xindi. Crews begin to retrofit the ship with stronger hull plating and new torpedoes. Archer also requests a team of military officers to provide muscle in the Expanse. While he meets with Forrest, Tucker visits his sister's home in Florida and learns that she was one of the casualties of the attack — now estimated to be about seven million people. He becomes furious and tells Reed that he wants no memorial services, only revenge.

Soval tells T'Pol that she has been reassigned to Vulcan. Archer volunteers to have Enterprise drop her off on the way to the Delphic Expanse, though the ship is attacked by Duras again on the way there. T'Pol requests permission to bypass Vulcan and remain on Enterprise, saying that she will resign her commission from the High Command rather than abandon Archer and her crewmates at this time. She is working at the science station when the particle barrier at the outskirts of the Expanse comes into view.

Duras attacks one last time, but Mayweather's piloting and the new torpedos destroy the Klingon ship, and Enterprise enters the Delphic Expanse.

My thoughts...

Visually stunning... good fights... not great but good. Final L Maneuver which is just a basic loop when you go through a cloud to come behind your opponent. Not thrilling, in fact reminiscent of Kirk's hiding-in-the-nebula-from-Khan plan. But what brought this episode down a notch was the time jumping... trip back took 3 weeks, then time passes while the Enterprise is finished being upgraded, then a few weeks toward Vulcan and an attack, then 7 weeks to the Delphic Expanse... Too much time jumping for one episode... I can understand that they probably wanted to start Season Three in the Delphic Expanse... but they could have achieved a better episode had they not jumped, had the battle just out side Sol system... then cut to the Expanse... Just my thought though...

It's ironic that those old adversaries the Klingons represent a sort of comfort zone in all this. We can predict just what they're going to do, how they're going to fight, which clichés about honor they'll recite. This is an enemy we know very, very well...well enough to know that they're not really an enemy, will not remain an enemy, even when it's a Duras we're dealing with and the House is presumably developing the grudge that made its members so difficult in later generations. We may get to watch the events that ultimately lead to the rise of the Duras sisters and the death of Kirk.

Shouldn't Forrest, Archer and the rest of humanity stop and wonder whether they can change the future, not by fighting the Xindi, but by altering their own behaviors, by asking what it is in human nature that keeps leading us to wars with death tolls in the millions? One of the most telling lines in the episode, when Mayweather asks Archer why Enterprise has been recalled, is Archer's response, "I didn't ask." He's clearly in shock — when the Suliban arrive moments later, he reacts sluggishly — but he needs to ask questions. Like Kirk facing the Klingons who killed his son, he needs to get beyond his personal feelings and speak for his crew, for all humans in space, perhaps for something even bigger. Enough philosophy; on to the details of the episode. Tucker has a couple of big emotional scenes mourning his sister, and Archer is the pivot upon whom the action hinges, but T'Pol gets the most character development; she makes a choice that is personal and life-changing. And this after Archer nearly takes her head off right after meeting with Silik, telling her he doesn't need her damn skepticism. T'Pol's scenes with both Soval — whom she clearly does not trust for logical as well as intuitive reasons — and Phlox are quite emotionally engaging, for she's clearly feeling far more than we've been led to believe is acceptable for Vulcans. Spock did, but he was half-human. T'Pol simply appreciates humans, even when they don't appreciate her, even when Tucker is upset enough to claim he doesn't want to hear about her damned belief in non-interference.

On a side note... I wonder if Soval is working for someone far more sinister than the Vulcan High Command or the Science Directorate. He gives Archer and Forrest contradictory information on what happens in the Delphic Expanse — it turns Klingons physically inside out, it makes Vulcans get emotional and torture one another, it's a big haunted house — can't he pick one nightmare and stick with it? Archer gets his best line in the episode retorting that the Suliban ally may not really be from the future but he sure can predict how the Vulcans will respond to his claims. Now I understand there may be different races that do different things to people entering into the Expanse... but wouldn't Soval just pick one to stick with to scare humanity into complience.

But these are really minor nitpicks, for the episode looks fantastic, plays engagingly and raises all sorts of questions and issues for next season. Will Enterprise be better next season... who knows but they definitely have a great base to work from...

Is this episode the best all season... Unfortunately not... but you'll have to wait till tomorrow for my Top 15, also Choices for movies this week are Anger Management and Identity... send me your vote at bphoenix@csonline.net.

Woe... I guess you guys and gals know some movies... I just wish I had more time to post. I have a lunch meeting at San Remo's in Pittsburgh to possibly get a job with a pharmaceutical company. Enterprise last night, actually watched it this morning, was great. I will be giving it's review probably tonight. That will be followed by my Top 15. Dave and I had a great game, only around 3 hours though till my internet connection crapped out. Israel has hit me hard... mostly because I was concentrating on Dave's attacking my new base in the south... In fact they did more damage then all of Dave's prophets ever could... I decided to build a base in the south to fend attacks from the Byzentine Empire's ships... Hey, just wanted to let you know that the season finale of Enterprise is on tonight... "The Expanse" should prove to be a watershed event for UPN considering how much Enterprise Sucked this season. Finally a battle with big ships... not those small little Suliban shuttles... Tomorrow I will be giving my review of Expanse as well as my top 15 episodes of this season. Rebuttal will be accepted afterward. I have also decided to accept movie ideas for this Friday... anyone have a good movie that they have seen, let me know, I need a good movie but after the Matrix Reloaded, I don't know if any could follow it... So far Identity was suggested as a good movie to see... does anyone agree or disagree with that? Let me know at bphoenix@csonline.net Well only eight days of school left for my daughter and I can understand why parents love school. Looks like I need to get another family pass to the pool. Tonight might also be a game night with the battle commensing against Dave's island in the south and my bases to the north... you'll have to check my website for the results. So with that I will leave you with my quote of day...

Ok, here is my review of "The Matrix Reloaded" but first here is the movie in a nutshell...

What if tomorrow this war could be over? Isn’t that worth fighting for? Isn’t that worth dying for?

Everything begins with choice.

Now, in the second chapter of the Matrix trilogy, Neo assumes greater command of his extraordinary powers as Zion falls under siege to the Machine Army. Only a matter of hours separates the last human enclave on Earth from 250,000 Sentinels programmed to destroy mankind. But the citizens of Zion, emboldened by Morpheus’s conviction that the One will fulfill the Oracle’s Prophecy and end the war with the Machines, rest all manner of hope and expectation on Neo, who finds himself stalled by disturbing visions as he searches for a course of action.

We can never see past a choice we don’t understand.

Strengthened by their love for each other and their belief in themselves, Neo and Trinity choose to return to the Matrix with Morpheus and unleash their arsenal of extraordinary skills and weaponry against the systematic forces of repression and exploitation. But there exist powerful figures within the Matrix who refute the artifice of choice, evading the responsibility it brings as they feed on the emotional truths of others.

Choice is an illusion created between those with power and those without.

Meanwhile, there are exiles like Mr. Smith, whose inexorable connection to Neo compels him to disobey the system that has called for his deletion. Driven by the humanity he once despised, Mr. Smith will consume everything in his path on his quest for revenge.

What do all men with power want? More power.

On his treacherous journey toward further insight into the construct of the Matrix and his pivotal role in the fate of mankind, Neo will confront greater resistance, an even greater truth and a more impossible choice than he ever imagined.

You didn’t come here to make the choice. You’ve already made it. You’re here to try to understand why you made it.

At the confluence of love and truth, faith and knowledge, purpose and reason, Neo must follow the course he has chosen. “What if I can’t?” he asks. “What if I fail?”

Then Zion will fall.

So what did I think...

Let me begin by saying: Wow!

Wow, as in unbelievable, astonishing, amazing, awe-inspiring. For sheer exhilarating spectacle, "The Matrix Reloaded" is the film to beat this year. Its effects are mind-melting, its action sequences are spine-cracking, and its conception of a post-apocalyptic human outpost besieged by an armada of spiderlike death machines is as visually engrossing as anything I have seen to date. "He's doing his Superman thing," remarks an admirer as Neo swirls through the clouds like the Man of Steel. Neo is now revered by many of humanity's survivors as the One, the messiah who will liberate them from their satanic A.I. oppressors. Some leaders of Zion, the last human outpost, put their faith in conventional weaponry instead, ridiculing the notion of a superpowered savior. Neo has his doubts, too. He's overwhelmed by crowds entreating his help and troubled by visions of a tragedy he can't prevent. For all his superhuman powers, he admits, "I don't know what I'm supposed to do." Then there is the retina-roasting action orgy that is put on hold while we're stuck in one of those "Star Trek"-style Supreme Council jawfests where Gen. Minoxydil filibusters Assemblyman Motrin about where to position the hypersonic plasma cannons.

The Matrix Reloaded regains its blistering pace in the middle stretch, and the finale is awesome. Neo confronts a man (or program?) who casts doubt on his role as mankind's potential savior. Coming fast on the heels of one of the rubber-burningest, metal-twistingest freeway chases in screen history, this dissertation helps the film's momentum maintain a sharp edge fast enough to snap a drive shaft.

The actors are outstanding in their martial-arts scenes. Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss (as his leather-clad love interest, Trinity) and Laurence Fishburn (Morpheus) fare better than many of Hollywood's brand-name action stars as they shoot, slice and somersault their way to liberation. They also hold the screen when they're required to be sexy (Reeves and Moss make up for the first film's zero-eros ambience) or commanding (Fishburne addresses a crowd of 1,500 Zionists with the fervor of Moses reincarnated).

But the film's new characters feel a little vague -- a sneering power broker called the Merovingian (Lambert Wilson), ps... loved the cake, and his haughty wife, Persephone (Monica Bellucci), their dreadlocked henchmen, the Twins (Neil and Adrian Rayment), and a mysterious know-it-all called the Architect (Helmut Bakaitis).

Writer/directors Larry and Andy Wachowski might blow away these minor objections come November, when they unveil the final part of their film trilogy, "The Matrix: Revolutions." "Reloaded" is merely the down payment on the big finale, and the minor plot points and slightly vague characters that feel incomplete now might be part of a grand plan yet to come. The imaginary world they have shown us so far gives us every reason to keep the faith.

Overall, I wish we would have seen more of Trinity in that love scene... but in the end... we shall keep the faith for Revolutions...

let me know what you think... bphoenix@csonline.net

Woe... what a freeked up weekend... Started out Saturday, delievering a trailer, then going out on a date to see the Matrix again, then letting my sister use the truck to move stuff. Well the dropping off the trailer was fine, date was good, then I go to drop off the truck, and she needs help to get rid of junk in her back yard... 3 truck loads later, and I finally get to go to dinner, which she picked up, but a little more heads up would have been appreciated. I had planned on seeing Jenny later, but was too darn tired and smelly to. Then Sunday was busy, Church in the morning, work on the sound system during the day, stopping just to catch a little spagetti at home, then Church in the evening, after all of that... I get home around 10:30. Now I have three clients today, plus I had an appointment this morning, that I completely forgot about... That reschedule should be fun.

Well, quite a evening and morning... just got back from the Matrix Reloaded... worth every penny and then some... I will not only see it again, but I it will be a must buy come DVD time... and I can't wait now for the Matrix Revolutions. I will give you all time to go see it before I post my response... cause my response will be very intriguing and you will understand when you see it. Now on to Enterprise...

First Flight may have shown Archer's path to captain, but it lacked a lot, and to hear that they nearly broke the budget on it, they should have given the money to Jolene Blalock and asked her to do two Heat episodes... Now I agree that it was cool to see the first NX versions of the Warp 2 engine looking so stylish and I will also agree that the episode had a story line, just not a good one. The story started out fine, then entered the flashback sequence, and that was too choppy in my opinion. Back and forth... and like a true American Idol, they will wait till the final use of the charges before they get a result... it would have been better for them to hit it on the third try and not the fourth... you knew it would happen on the fourth due to the time left. Side note... great that Reuben made it to the finally... he deserves to win with his voice. Anywho... This episode didn't make it to My top 15 for this season, and that is sad since it is May sweeps. This season really, REALLY sucked.

The Bounty was the redemption of the night... if only to see Jolene Blalock in Heat... That girl is fine.. even if she just got married... she is still fine. What was sad that UPN devoted to much coverage to just her... in the promos... like Erica Green said from TrekToday...
"And then there's T'POL IN HEAT! I can't say I wasn't warned, for UPN has been hyping this storyline in TV promos, in radio ads, on talk shows...I've lost track of how many times I was treated to the sight of Jolene Blalock slathering her lovely waxed legs with decon gel and rubbing her lovely bra-free breasts against a bemused-looking John Billingsley. To be fair, this episode didn't disgust me nearly as much as either of Voyager's pon farr episodes, the date rape fantasy of "Blood Fever" or the holodeck sexcapade of "Body and Soul". It merely featured the expected exploitation of Blalock in extremely skimpy clothes, sweating, panting, rubbing herself all over a man who's already declared himself turned off by forward women and another hidden behind a space-worthy environmental suit. Too bad she didn't challenge Malcolm with a lirpa; I'd love to see him try to pull off the James T. Kirk torn-shirt routine. " Now where I disagree with Erica, probably a girl boy thing, is that this episode wasn't bad... it gave me a reason to keep watching... now I know that it is my organ talking but I stayed there... where in the last episode I did 10 other things while watching. Isn't that the idea of a program... to keep the viewer there... now a better story may have worked, but if you don't have the stories yet, go with the old standbys... sex and violence... But I wasn't convinced by John Billingsley's portral of Phlox... You know just a few episodes ago we met one of Phlox's wives, and he was more than eager to let her sleep with Trip, maybe he wanted to watch... and now he develops Medical ethics... no that may not work T'pol so we shouldn't try it... IS HE DEAD!!! Even the holographic Doctor from Voyager would have nailed her. Bones would have on the first comeon... even Crusher would go lesbo the way the heat was hitting her, so don't try to pull this... Holier than thou attitude with Phlox... that was so unbelieveable. Then to make matters even more unbelieveable is Reed... not even wanting to... maybe he is gay after all... That suit would have been penetrated with her first words... and he just pushes her off... Job is job... but she is the exception... but at least I watched... oh, just to let you know... Archer was captured then escapes from a Klingon ship... not believeable... No wonder we will go to war with them... This episode makes my top 15 if only to see T'pol rubbing herself over and over again...

On a different subject... My daughter was great at her recital... to see some pictures go here...

well like I said I love the Matrix Reloaded, it is a must see... so go see it and we shall talk...

Greetings and salutations... this will be short and sweet since my daughter has her spring program today and I need to get ready plus deliever some stuff before I see her. Hopefully I will have some photos of the program to post on my website tonight... anyways I just wanted to remind everyone that Enterprise tonight will be a double episode, both new, with one where T'pol is in heat. Should be fun....

Hey, sorry about yesterday, just overslept, was late to church, took my mother out to dinner and never got back till late, then had a four hour game with Dave. Anyways, the PotLuck Buffet and Bazaar was a success... not an overwhelming success, but we cleared as much as we normally clear for a dinner and this was all profit... the final total was still being added to yesterday, with the amount over $600. I think it was big education for mom, but overall I think she'll do it again much much later, maybe an annual thing. The one thing that remains from Saturday and probably for weeks to come... food. We had so much left over food that we don't need to worry about dinner for a week I think, ribs to chicken bake, chips to lasagna... if you are hungry stop over for bite or two... we certainly don't need it here.

Last night I said that Dave and I got a four hour game going, after a lot of internet trouble on my end. Dave took on the israel's defenses and nearly wiped them out... nearly... he almost cleaned the lower corner of the continent where they started from, only for them to open camps all over the rest of the map... My game last night was holding off invasions from the Bysentine Empire as well as Israel. I first built defenses, and a lot of them then I proceded to make my wonder's of the world... and then the invasions came... none made it past my fortifications...Now the next time we play... I shall make my first battle with the Bysentine Empire, they really pissed me off by sinking one of ships... only one since I have 7 against any ships that come at me in the north. So that is the next installment of... Empire Earth...

Well my friends it is time to go make money for the day... go out there and enjoy this miserable rainy cold and wet day...

Today is the big day... the PotLuck Buffet and Bazaar at the Church of God of Prophecy. This was my mother's brainchild idea while she was laid up with her back last year. So far ticket sales were low, but we hope for a good turnout today. It should be quite the educational experience for mom cause you know that they say...

Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten.B F Skinner

Got to talk to my friend last night, and it was good to talk to her after so long...

Have a great day all... and to all a good night...

Well this post shall be short and sweet, I was up late last night putting together a new router for a client, and I couldn't get the dang thing to log into. Tech is cool, when it works, otherwise it sucks... So I am off to a half dozen things today. So go out there and enjoy your day and remember...

To be able to fill leisure intelligently is the last product of civilization, and at present very few people have reached this level.

Well last night Enterprise finally had an alright episode... 'Regeneration' which I thought would be a bad one since it involved the Borg which... in the 24th century were never heard of... so what makes this episode different... well first read my take on the story...

"On Earth near the Arctic Circle, a research team finds debris from an alien vessel and a pair of corpses. The wreckage has been there for nearly a hundred years, yet when the cybernetically enhanced bodies are thawed, the nanotechnology in their bloodstreams repairs them and reanimates them. Abducting the researchers, the beings modify their transport vessel to enable faster warp speed and leave Earth. Admiral Forrest orders Enterprise to try to intercept the vessel and retrieve the scientists. When a Tarkalean freighter sends out an automated distress call, Archer discovers that the aliens have added weapons to the previously unarmed transport. The Enterprise crew rescues two injured Tarkaleans from their damaged vessel, but the two have been modified with nanoprobes by the unknown aliens and attack Dr. Phlox as he tries to treat them. Meanwhile Archer recalls reading something about Zefram Cochrane saying that during the first contact with the Vulcans, cybernetic creatures from the future attacked and were driven off by humans from the future. T'Pol suspects those were the ramblings of a drunken storyteller, but Archer worries that the beings they are following seem to have a lot in common with the mysterious menace from Cochrane's era. The altered Tarkaleans who have attacked Phlox escape from sickbay and begin to make modifications to the ship, injecting something into the plasma relays. Archer is forced to evacuate them into space to protect his crew, but the damage has already been done and Phlox is slowly being overcome by the nanoprobes in his body. Having discovered the aliens' resistance to phase pistols, Reed comes up with a plan to modify the weapons, but when Enterprise catches up with the transport, the ship sends a signal that activates the technology modified by the Tarkaleans, bringing down Enterprise's weapons and main power. An audio hail informs the crew, "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile." Using the transporter, Archer and Reed board the transport with explosives while several of the aliens board Enterprise to carry out their threat. On the transport Archer discovers that the research team from the Arctic can no longer be considered human and destroys the vessel before the Enterprise crew suffers the same fate. Meanwhile Phlox, whose immune system has some resistance to the alien nanoprobes, treats himself with a very high dose of omicron radiation that he knows will leave him terribly debilitated even if it destroys the technology. He survives, and warns Archer that while the nanoprobes were in his body, he experienced a telepathic connection to a group consciousness. He heard a numerical sequence over and over again. When Archer analyzes the data, he realizes that the numbers represent the spatial coordinates of Earth. The data was sent deep into the Delta Quadrant. T'Pol informs him that it will take about 200 years for a subspace message to travel so far, but Archer believes they may only have postponed an invasion until the 24th century. "

So now that you know... here is what I think...

"Regeneration" attempts to straighten out the timeline that was altered by Star Trek: First Contact, when the Borg arrived to assimilate Earth centuries before they were supposed to have encountered humans. The sphere that was destroyed at the end of that film is apparently the one that the Arctic research team uncovers. The episode plays coy, opening like a horror movie with a cast of expendable characters in an isolated haunted environment; we don't actually see any of them get assimilated, and complete newbies to Trek might get chills at the mysteriousness of it all, though I'm betting the majority of viewers know exactly what's coming. Unfortunately these are the wussier Voyager variety of Borg, not the utterly terrifying "Best of Both Worlds" Borg; they don't make any concerted effort to assimilate Archer's crew when there are just two of them, even though presumably assimilating a couple of engineers would make their work go faster, and they don't adapt very quickly to the phase pistols, allowing Reed to kill a surprising number of them. Plus the one Enterprise crewmember they attack, Phlox, has some natural resistance...and he comes up with a treatment plan that none of Starfleet's later doctors seem to have been able to discover. "Regeneration" is the strongest evidence I've seen yet that Enterprise must become a reset-button series, in which all the events of the show's run are wiped out in the final episodes. There are just too many inconsistencies with original Trek and TNG canon, otherwise. It's clever that the Borg make their "You will be assimilated, resistance is futile" speech without their trademark opening, "We are the Borg", but it makes absolutely no sense that that warning wouldn't be on file in every Starfleet database from Archer's era forward. Okay, we're back in that time conundrum with this problem, but it doesn't solve the mystery of why we've never heard of Denobulans and their progress with nanotechnology, what's going to happen with the Suliban future-tampering, what's going on with the rumored time-traveling aliens in the upcoming season finale. On the one hand, it's good that the producers can say, "Well, the timeline has been changed so we can do whatever we want." But on the other hand, what's supposed to keep us old-time Trekkies grounded, to make it familiar and logical? I'm a lot more impressed when they manage to get seeming inconsistencies to reconcile -- something Pocket Books' authors have done admirably in the Trek series, especially The Eugenics Wars -- than when timeline disruptions are used as an excuse for rewriting canon. This show's viewership has declined significantly enough that I'd think winning onetime Trek fans back would be a huge priority. And on the more-important internal consistency count, "Regeneration" suffers from being broadcast the week after "Cogenitor". It's not just that the latter had a superb script and made even gutsier choices, not about when and where to show the crew but about how to characterize those crewmembers. It's also that people changed and grew and became furious with one another during the course of "Cogenitor" but there's no evidence of it in "Regeneration" whatsoever. Archer and Tucker are back to being buddies -- not just working well together as captain and engineer, but chatting casually about the unlikelihood of anything surviving polar ice for a hundred years. T'Pol is quite icy and not all that logical -- sure, it's true that Archer may have to blow up the transport to keep Enterprise safe, but as the science officer I'd think she'd be a tad more interested in learning what she can about these mysterious aliens first. Lovely performances by Linda Park as Sato and John Billingsley as Phlox don't quite make enough of the personal element in all this. The doctor should be scared out of his mind, but we only really see it when he's undergoing radiation and in great pain -- even when he asks Archer to kill him should he fail, he's keeping an awfully stiff upper lip. And I love the idea that Hoshi visits him, armed, to feed his laboratory animals, but again we don't get much from Phlox about what his relationships mean to him, what it would mean to lose them. We knew exactly what Picard suffered and lost when he became Locutus of Borg. With Phlox, there's almost something titillating about watching him fight assimilation as we wonder: what will he learn from the Borg? Is he strong enough to resist them somehow? I do like Archer's unhappiness about having to evacuate live beings into space, even though he knows and T'Pol assures him that it is necessary; nice shades of the argument between Janeway and Chakotay in Voyager's "Scorpion" when Chakotay evacuated live Borg out an airlock with little apparent hesitation. But I can't help feeling this episode's almost fluffy. We know we're not going to see the Borg again on Enterprise without major canon overhaul. So what have we learned, really? Nothing new about Archer. Nothing new about the Borg. A teeny bit of explanation about the consequences of the time alterations from First Contact, but there are more new questions than there are answers. Ok, yes I borrowed most of this from Michelle Erica Green of www.trektoday.com, but I agreed so much with it that I had to reproduce some of it here.

Ok, now I have mentioned that I like dreams, but these two last night really were too much...

The first one, courtesy of my friend, revolved around Wet, Naked, and Dripping wet... enough said, that was quite...EXPLOSIVE...

So what do you think the second one dealt with... Women, sex, beer, and more women... Nope...

I was an inspector in Iraq sorting through the bootie that was recovered by the police and recording it....

HUH??? Where the heck did this come from??? I think this eating one meal a day and that meal just happening to be pizza is not something one should do... then to add misery to a weird dream, that same friend who was Wet, Naked, and Dripping wet was helping me with the cataloging of goods, of course fully clothed in traditional Iraqi attire... which was very sexy for her... and all I could do was keep working... what the heck is up with that??? Next thing you know I will be taking women out on dates and just watching tv for 6 hours with them... wink, wink... No I would shoot myself before that... or I know someone that would... wink, wink...

So the phrase for today is... Eat three meals a day or in Iraq your dreams will stay

Today, we bid a moment of silence for the loss of something great.
It is huge was the first comment I ever made about it,
It could haul a lot of butt, and go wherever it wanted to.
It may not have looked the best, but its heart was in the right place.
Todays moment of silence will be for

The Beast

Dave and Cindys Beast of the East bit the dust yesterday morning.
In an accident that could have easily taken Dave as well, the Beast
Gave its life that Dave might live. Born in 1986 it was a proud Suburban
Its parents American Steel and Chevy were very confident this American
Would keep the truest ideals of American know-how and ingenuity.
Living through the 80s, its 14 MPG and roomy compartment
took many children to school, parents to work, and families out on the town.
In the 90s, it saw changes in the design as well as changes in the political
Landscape but even as its younger competitors were already rusted away,
It was still as strong as ever, and even after the new millennium, it was still
A true American, working hard, and keeping families moving. In late 2001,
The beast met its final family. Dave and Cindy, and they loved each other
Dave loved it for its 4 wheel drive, where Cindy loved it cause it was just so
Big. The kids loved it cause they had there own little spaces inside.
Its engine might be silenced, but Its soul shall live in infamy
and we shall all be grateful that we knew it.

The family has decided on a private memorial for just family only.
Just a side note, the family is taking donations in lew of flowers,
If you care to donate please contact me at bphoenix@csonline.net

Good Morning...

Did you ever have to make up your mind...
On what you want to do with your life...
Only to find choices point you back to where you started from...
Is it a never ending causality loop?
Is it God?s personal yo-yo?
Could it have something to do with the 4th dimension, infinite time strings that just happen to knot at your current time frame?
Is it the dream of a coma patient who can?t find the courage to live or die?
Is it the punishment of a life without direction?

Or am I just having a bad week???

These and many more questions will be answered (eventually) on our next exciting adventure of?.

Bruce Sharrar ? International man of temporal phases

PS- still sick but getting better, and yes I still miss my friend

Phoenix... remember Phoenix for the next X-men movie... X3

ok, still sick but better... overall, Took Kayla out to get haircut cause I finally couldn't see her eyes. Plus I needed an oil change anyways. So beautiful day never the less... just wish I could enjoy it... well now for my review of X2

Slow start, but lived up to hype about special effects... esp. Nightcrawler unfortunately the movie played along a predictable point a then point b timeline. I expected more from Bryan Singer (X-Men, The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil) but maybe this just isn't his forte. The hottie of the movie... Anna Paquin (Rogue), even though she is playing a teenager, I would score her in a second if I could... she is hot, and there is a part in the movie that could have been her crowning achievement, they could have shown her changing... and if they had, I would go see this movie three more times just for that. Of course Rebecca Romijn-Stamos (Mystique) is also hot, but I think it is the streak of grey hair that really brings Rogue to be my hottie of the movie. so here is the movie in a nut shell

The status quo of Professor Charles Xavier (Stewart) and his School for Gifted Youngsters is turned upside-down as the President is attacked and almost killed by a mutant. In response the president allows a new unknown military figure to take measures including invading the School by this same former U.S. military leader turned anti-mutant radical named Stryker (Cox), as some of the students are taken prisoner and others become fugitives, along with members of the school's elite team, the X-Men. Among the other story strands that this film have include the escape by Magneto from his "plastic prison" very uniquely the only real surprise in this movie(as seen in the trailer), Wolverine's continuing search for the secrets of his origin (and what might have to do with a mysterious woman named Deathstrike, who works for Stryker), the budding romance between mutant students Bobby Drake (AKA Iceman) (Ashmore) and Rogue (Paquin), the appearance of a new demon-like mutant called Nightcrawler (Cumming) and the continuing romantic triangle between Wolverine, Cyclops (Marsden) and Dr. Jean Grey (Janssen).

Like I said at the beginning of this post... remember Phoenix for the next movie and at the end you will know why I say that.

Next week it is Matrix Reloaded

Again, anyone wanting to go... email at bphoenix@csonline.net... please only females this time Thanks...

Later all.

Ok, now I didn't think anyone read this blog but was I surprised to find out differently. But I should have put in my last statement that the person who wants to go, must be of the female anatomy... but never the less I did get an email from someone who did meet my criteria and we had a fun time. Just one question, in the cartoon, what was the name of the creature Jean Grey turned into to save the world??? I need to know...

Goodnight all...

Hey guess what... YES I AM STILL SICK... I had a nasty night... thought I was going to hack my head off... anyways, my brother and his wife got out last night and planted as well as put up wire around the blueberry bush and all I could was hack my head off. I am going out to a movie today... I need some time away from this house... So if anyone wants to come to a movie with me... email me at bphoenix@csonline.net
